Kartik Aaryan is one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood and he has been ruling over millions of hearts, courtesy of his acting talents, good looks, down-to-earth personality, and more. The actor has been scaling it to the top with his entertaining flicks, and this year he had a slew of interesting projects including Shehzada, Satyaprem Ki Katha, and more.
But, did you know, despite its success, Kartik Aaryan did not charge any fee for his role in Shehzada?
For the unversed, Kartik Aaryan was also the producer of the movie, Shehzada, wherein he acted in the lead role alongside Kriti Sanon.
Talking about the same in an interview with Film Companion, Kartik Aaryan revealed that he was not a producer in the movie and rather he gave up on his fee. Speaking about the reason, Kartik said that he was given the credit of a producer as the film was going through a money crisis, and he decided not to take any charges.
Kartik mentioned: "What happened with Shezada was, I was not a producer-producer as such. I was given that credit on the basis that the film was going into a money crisis, and I gave up on my fees.”
Furthermore, the actor also mentioned that not only did he give up on the fee but also contributed financial support to the project so that it wouldn't get stuck in between. He also heaped praises on the producers for acknowledging his help and efforts. Kartik also shared that he was essentially just acting as a producer. Kartik said, "The producers were gracious enough that they credited me for that reason."
While speaking about his plans to venture into production, Kartik Aaryan mentioned that he is currently focused on his acting career. He also added that he is not looking into producing a film as it requires significant time and attention.
However, he also hinted at thinking about the same if something comes up to that.
During the same interview, Kartik revealed that he doesn’t know how to check his bank balance. He also stated that his mom looks after his finances. Sharing an anecdote about the same, Kartik stated that he wanted to buy a car on his birthday, but his mom told him that they had no money.
Kartik added that as he didn't know how to check his bank balance, he had to believe what his mom told him.
